My Dad is building a vacation house about 2 miles outside of Florence. Its on a lake called Wholhink (not sure on spelling). Construction is almost done. I'm going to go up there and ride the Florence Sand Dunes this spring/early summer. We should put together a west coast trike fest at the Florence Sand dunes.

I have heard at this website that people have organized a "west coast" trike fest and last year was at the Florence Sand dunes. I thought it would be cool to put together another one and that guy in ID might want to come to it. Yeah thats a long drive but its no shorter from So Cal (15 hrs) I estimate. Just trying to pull together the western part of the US to a gathering spot.

Are the St Anthony dunes any better than in Florence? Cause that's gotta be a good 9 hour + drive from Portland to get there. I lived in Jackson WY for 10 years, when I frist started riding, but never managed to make the trip over the hill to St Anthony to go riding. Just passed through it on our way to like ID Falls , but never saw the dunes from the highway...

I hear it is, as far as the dunes being bigger. Were thinking about getting a Toybox this winter and making a few more trips next year. A St Anthonys trip might be in the plans. I'm always up for a road trip. Here's a link I found on our local site.

    St. Anthony Dunes .

Yea, the dunes are tall. I'm a local. I live 25 miles from them. The word is that they are the tallest in north america. Lot's of lives have been taken there.

    Idaho sand dunes

There's some sand dunes that are only 40 mile from Boise but the are a state park and no one can ride on them. As for a meet in Florence or St. Anthony, that sounds good to me. A couple of years ago I rode the Oregon sand dunes on a buggy. I was fun. An ATV would be better. I am just inchin to get my two trikes up and going again.
