200X OEM black or blue seat, Which color is better?

This is kind of a dumb thread but I'm trying to make my 1983 200X have an OEM factory fresh look. After searching EBAY for months I finally got a 200X OEM blue seat for $20 and its nice but has a little wear up by the tank. I put it on and it looks good. Then yesterday on ebay there was a mint condition black OEM seat. I bid $35 and won it. Now I have 2 seats. Why, I don't know. I'm an ebay fanatic. The question is which is the better color seat to use - the black or the blue.

Also, does Maier make the red head light housings for 200X's? Anyone know?
I saw one on ebay and was wondering if it was true.

Use the blue seat. I have bought 4 250R seats off E bay. I just like mine to look original. '85 had the 250R and '86 said ATC. The black Honda ones are nice but not the original look.

But after doing some research I have learned that the 1983 and 1984 200X had a black seat and the 1985 had the blue. I admit the blue looks better, but the black is also original too.

Go with the black for originality. 83 to 84 had black seats 85 to 87 had blue seats.

85-87 yes had blue seats,but one was 200X other was ATC. If you want the "original" look black is your seat!

Let us know which seat you decide to use. I may be interested in the blue seat if you go with the black. My 85 200X has a blue seat.

1983 and '84 should have black seats and forks with a red/yellow/orange honda wing logo on the tank (and a red shock instead of blue). A blue seat on an '83 that has all the other '83 elements would not look right in my opinion.

Well I'll go with the black seat casue your right, my 83 has the other elements of an 1983 with the black forks and boots. I had my tank repainted by a body shop and had to bail the orange and red tank wings. They were worn anyway. The stics I bought on ebay are cool but are not original. There larger and red/white/blue. Anyone know where I can get a orange/red decal or something close.

When the seat arrives I'll let you know which one I'm going with.

i have two 86- 200x, blue on white always looks better!
