    I survived Hurricane Frances!!

Well, we got about 13 inches of rain 60 mph winds for about 18 hours with gusts of 85 mph. Three trees fell on my roof and made two holes which caused some substantial leaking in my bedroom. lost power for 3 days.. had to buy a generator for like $700 to keep things running. just got the boards off my windows and emptied out all the sand bags. No flooding at my house but many around here were not so lucky. Just another day in paridise!

At least you are not hurt. I have been there, I lived in miami for a while. By the way, put the boards back up, here comes Ivan.

From the sounds of things, you might want to hang on to those sand bags and boards. Looks like another one is brewing. Im glad you got through with minimal damage. Im glad to see HondaATC and others are back too.

Yeah, no real damage here to our house luckily. The Lights went off saturday afternoon around 4:00pm and came back on yesterday at about 6:00pm. We are leaving the plywood on our windows and are going to get more fuel for the generator in anticipation of this next one....Its already a Cat 5.

Well I emptied the sand from the plastic garbage bags that were starting to tear, but I kept the real sand bags in-tact and I'm saving them till the season is over. In actuality I only took the boards off the kitchen window and the read slider so we can get some light in here. Now the boards are all cut and all it takes is 4 screws to get them back up so we can get ready in a hurry. Ivan the terrible looks to be REAL nasty....my fingers are crossed..
