    changing oil dumb question

    I'm changing the oil on my 1985 honda 200x. Now I have a 1986 manual and its a bit different but says dont screw the dipstick in when checking oil... Is it the same for everything or was that just special? I've always screwed it all the way in. Also, is it ok To mix 10w-30 and 40?

    get an 85 manual man. and go to the store and get some 10w40 dont mix it.

    maybe putting my 200x cam in it but not sure

    so i see you have the same bike as me so whats the recommened oil amount?

    1.27 quarts! haha, I just changed mine about an hour ago.

    I am assuming that is with the crank case TOTALLY empty..so figure about a quart.

    And yes the 1985 manual says to check the oil level without the dipstick screwed in also
