my 85 200x will once in a great while kick out of gear ... seems to happen around 3rd.. but it only happens once in a blue moon.... coult this be my own error? maybe adjust clucht cable???

Sounds like the return springs to me. They end up getting weak and causing the trike to pop out of gear or have false nuetrals between gears. The springs are a few dollars a piece so I would replace them before going into the trans. anyway.
