you should upgrade to a trike : )
if your gonan get a quad do your self a favor and get the blaster first off it;s a 2 stroke and 2nd of all its a yamaha. the list goes on and on why it's better.
its chain driven not shaft like the honda
lotsa mods for it
easy to work on
its a 2 stroke
its a yamaha
look cooler than the honda
its a 2 stroke
plus its got a clutch not an auto clutch POS like the honda
the blaster has way better suspension also
the honda is just a recon engine in a sport chassis
I think you should go ride both (more then just in the parking lot at the dealer) then decide which machine best fits you and your riding style. If you ride duens the 2 stroke is probably the better choice. If you ride wooded trails then the 4 stroke is probably the answer. These are just sugestions.
I had the RIGHT to remain silent, I didn't have the ability!
I already have a trike, it is a 81 KLT 200, i also have a Blaster, but I do a lot more trail riding, and have had a few problems in mud where it gets really hot, i also was considering a honda, because it has reverse, and i have never heard of a problem with shaft driveOriginally Posted by 350xsx
alright just makin sure you have a trike, just buy an R or tecateif you want a 2 stroke, the good points, there not Yamacrap, yea shaft drives are bulletptoof til the u-joint goes which will take a longgggg time and is fairly easy to replace, but i think you should get a 300ex if your goin with a honda, my brother has one and there real dependable and its a beast in the mud with paddles(still cant touch me SX) the bad points in that is its electric start only tho
What are you looking to gain with a new machine? Do you want a 250ex, something that is half utility? Do you want a modern mid level sport machine like the newr blaster? Are looking to be faster than someone? What is your ultimate goal here?Originally Posted by sickKLT20081

I like the speed of my blaster that i have now, but I was looking for something with some bigger balls. I heard that the Sportrax does like 60, because it is a four stroke it has the balls i am looking for, unless the Blaster got a bigger set. My buddies have a 91 Foreman 300 and a Foreman 200, I can keep up in the mud for a while, but i get overheated really fast, so that is why I was looking at the sportrax. Also I have no real low end torque with my blaster, that is one thing i like really like about the Sportrax, because I do alot of trail riding, and mudding. One of the main points I like about the Honda is that it has electric start and reverse. Here is one of the biggest questions, does the Sportrax do a decent wheelie?? because I know the Blaster can.Originally Posted by OldSchoolin86

i'd go with the sporttrax just because it's a honda, that 2 stroke blaster will need work and rebuild before the honda even needs an oilchange..
You guys are crackin me up.I know your kidding because that's not anywhere near what he asked for and it's only a couple of grand more.Originally Posted by reload

The blaster will run circles around a 250ex in many types of riding. If your looking for a 4 stroke, electric start, some bottom end power, and more ass then your blaster you'd have to jump to the 400ex in the Honda line-up before you got all four. The 300ex is a nice machine that is closer to the blaster. It's a 4-stroke, electric start and will play with your blaster but won't blow it away. They are extremly reliable and have a fuller frame, better brakes and suspention then what your on now.Originally Posted by sickKLT20081

I have had some problems with the Blaster, the injection system went out on me, the clutch locked up on me one time, not smoked, didn't disengage, crank case leaks oil, and the throttal cable stuck one time while out on the trails, that was fun!!
Glad I could help.

A few other problems that I forgot about that my Blaster had, Rear axel bearings, tie rod end, rear brake cable-caliper has some problems, front drum brakes suck, shift shaft assembly fell apart on me. I think that is it
