Question Yamaha 225dx - New Pictures

Anyone have any idea on how many Yamaha 225dx's are still around or if you can still even find any that arent peices of junk..... I have 2 1983 225 DXL's that still run and are in great condition with all origional parts except for I just put new rear tires on one last sunday..... Im curious because I had someone from a powersports dealer drop off a Quad to my neighbor today, and he was in shock after looking at mine, He just couldnt believe what kind of condition mine were in and how good they run....

and does anyone know what one might go for now, that is in great condition... I dont think I would sell them, They have just been too reliable and Quads just arent as much fun as these old trikes... Plus I can go to soo many places that quads cant.....

This is one of mine taken last week... Its not a very good picture... It was raining and nasty because of Hurricane Ivan.....

my neighbor said he found about 4 up in WNY this summer, but i dont know what kind of condition they were in. I know he payed $450 for one that needed an exhaust and all cables, levers, and brakes, and he was lucky to get $475 with the pipe and levers. hope that helps

I am on my second. The first I was able to sell for 650 and will hope to get the same for the current one. I like the 225's they are a nice all around machine.
Anyone know of a new project machine for me around Wisconsin?

Weve had them since they were brand new from the dealer 20 years ago,.. I still have the Owners Manual (although it dosent tell you very much)and tool kit that came with it.... One thing about these 225's, They sure can haul ass... I will take my old 225 over most of these new quads any day.......Im not going to sell them, Im just curious about what people sell them for now a days.....

Here are some better pics I just took ... Its not an 83, Its an 84, I screwed up, we bought it in 83 when the 84's came out.. It has some small scraches and some very slight fading in some small places on the plastic, but its nothing that cant be fixed...... I plan on restoring it to even better condition soon, but for 20 years with everything origional but the 2 rear tires, Its still in really good condition..... Still runs like new, and thats whats really important..... It dosent really get any breaks, I use it all day, every day on my farm..... Hasnt let me down yet...... Now I have to get my other one running again, Its been sitting in dry storage for a couple of months because it needs new tires...all I have to do is clean the carb, tune it up and put some new tires on it and its ready to go again.....
