    1984 250r Perf. Modz

my bro just bought a air cooled 250r.

he want to get a bit more out of it.
first the engine is now on 71mm bore size.
will soon get a dg headpipe and silencer.

    i susgested him to get a 85-86 250r carb sincehe got a 30mm carb.
then get a boyseen reed cage and reeds.
and maybe a port and polish.

anything else could be done on this engine to get some more ponies.

    Clamp-on air filter
Have the head milled for more compression.
    Weight reduction
    Re-gear it

I would say stroke the crank, but you probably aren't looking to split the engine cases. Deffinetly get it ported. All of those mods should be more than he will ever need. But, I can't really think of anything else.

It would be cheaper to sell it and get a '85 or '86.

That said, I want an '84 to wrench on myself so go crazy.

waterpumpers are not in the list right now.
i really love the air cooled R.

you think all those mod will be enough loll
power is the way to go, i'll never get enough.

i like the idea of stroking the R but i never saw any rod made for it. maybe some compagny would do it but at really high price.

any other idea that cross your mind will be greatly apreciated. i really want to get the max out of the air cooled R.

anyone ever try to fuel injected it, or any 2 stroke carburated trike??????

if it could be done i think i would really like to try to turbo it someday but without fuel injection i think it would be nearly impossible.

Give Powroll a try. They move the crank pin further out, and they shrink the orignial rod, so you wouldn't need a new one. You could also have the fly wheel lightened so it revs up quicker.Get one of them short gas cap breather tubes. You could also try finding a 300 big bore kit.

I would be careful about milling the head as when you increase compresion you increase the heat produced, so I wouldn't go overboard on a high comp engine for an aircooled bike.

powroll only makes 4 stroke parts. I think there slogan is something like "Providing over 40 years of 4 stroke power"
    The below sentence is TRUE.
