its gonna change even more soon(for the better), I'm putting on a lrd 310pv and a +1 lsr swinger, and currently hyper carbon fiber beadlocks with fast trekkers are on it. By the way, I cracked the 86 frame on the top rail, near the rear shock mount(its been long fixed already). My main issue with switching the frame was the threads for the foot peg mounts were stripped and helicoiled on the 85 frame and the whole piece stripped more, I wasn't messing with it anymore. I have a 86 frame that I'm gonna reinforce and powdercoat.

I can't wait to hear about your lrd pv 310. Since I've been on 3WWorld, I have learned that people with 85 frames have spark plug cap clearance problems when you use spacer plates, etc., that you do not hear about on the 86. Whats different with the 86 for that to happen? This is a good thread, I did not realize where R frames crack.

the cross bar is much thicker on the 85 frame(where the front tank bolts are). I had to grind mine out to fit the coolhead I had.

Checking out a few of the pics. Got some nice parts on that trike. Does it clean up nice? How's the pipe? I'm going with the esr atc5 also. My fmf fatty has fallen apart.

We have every year in camp of R . I found this thread interesting. I have been looking at differnt 85 trikes next to my 86 while im working on them. I have been suspecting two of the things you cover hear , Fork rake and hight. I think you may be right. Hight can be effected by many things but I think the 86 is lower all around . Also looks like front wheel is out farther, I though mine may have a little tweek. Also CDI is diff, on off switch, carb, and on and on. They ride diff. in my opinion.

all you need is 86 atc 250r peg mounts to use them, they also work on 86/87 200x, 86 350x. I just ordered a set for my 200x(86)

looks like they welded two footpegs together. Why wouldn't it also work on a 85 350X? I didn't know the footpegs were any different between 85 and 86. I had a few sets of Hondaline footpeg covers... they increase the width about the same and add a 'catch' on the end.

they don't work with 85 250r peg mounts either, where the peg slides in and you put the spring and pin isn't wide enough on the 85 models. I'll post some pics of why it wo't work later on.
