I have many questions about my 84 200x proj.
what is the best shaker can engine and exhaust paint flat for exh.and shiny for eng.I thought about getting some 2000 degrees ceramic manfold paint from auto zone??I can get another frame complete with front end (forks+trees,head light)engine(missing side case covers)complete swing arm no axle,no gas tank,no plastics,no seat $200.00 think ill try to get them to come dwn on $$ my engine is in great cond. only needs gaskets on kicker case cover leaks bad,runs fine needs cosmetic work a little ugly,really all this trike needs is paint and plastics new front fork leg the one on there is dented so I dont believe a rebuild will do it got another set of forks from 85 but one of those are bent and one leg that has the caliper is a little stripped where the axle bolt threads in ,the triples on running x are oxidised have another set that are better looking,ive got one 85 frame w/swing arm that I cant get off and the only reason I want this other frame is because im keeping my lil x and will need every part I can get .

i just use rustoleum hi temp black on my exhausts. It has never ever come off, I prep the pipe with a wire brush, then wash it with hot soapy water, then degrease it, blow dry with compressed air and paint. no primer, its not hi temp compatible. I would use the same on the engine, if black is what you are after.

I agree with Trikeaholic, I use the Rustoleum Hi Temp as well and have never had issues. The big thing to remember as with all paint, the paint is only as good as the prep work. If you do a good job prepping, I'm sure almost any hi-temp paint will work.

Any quality name high-temp paints I have used will do fine. While not advertised as "high temp", POR-15 is absolutely indestructable. It is fairly costly, but quite possibly the strongest paint I have ever used. The stuff won't come off your skin for a couple weeks, til the skin actually dies. On metal, I have taken high speed (5000rpm) wire wheels to a single coat of this paint and it hardly scuffed. Good stuff.
