Im having a bear of a time trying to get the axle locknut loose. Ive soaked it to hell in PB blaster and had a few much stronger friends try to bust it loose. I really dont want to heat it cause it will weaken the axle. Does anyone have a good technique? Also Im under the impression they are left handed threads like my 86 250r cause its the same exact setup, even the carrier looks the same.

yeah the lock nut has left hand threads. you'll probably have to torch it. it shouldn't hurt the axle too much. i've straightened axles before and rode on them and they've been fine, but i wouldn't recommend motocrossing on it

Yeah im gonna take it up to work and torch the fukk out of it. I want to fix it. The bearings are shot. The 250x is my Snow Knight Rider. Its alot quieter than the 250r so i dont wake the neighbors when I go out at night in the snow for a quick romp.

I got it loose with the torch some lube a pipe wrench with pipe extension and 3 guys holding it down at work that sucker was on there.
