gas leaks out of the hole on the bottom of carb.

it runs fine,starts rite up,but when you shut it off it starts to leak out the bottom of carb.I had another carb. i change the float (i had this carb. in and it did not leak) so i put that float in,and it does the samething but not as bad,is it the float or what.thanks ............svo58

You don`t say what type of carb it is but I suggest you change the float needle, or at least clean the tip and the inlet to the carb. Probibly a small piece of dirt stopping it from sealing. Sounds like it is passing and the gas is running out the overflow.
