I work in Chino, used to live in Chino, but now live in Corona.

Dumont was too crowded last turkey weekend, so were going 2 weeks early this year. I haven't been to Glamis in 25 years, but have been a Dumont regular for over 25 years.

Compared to Pismo, the sand is nice and dry (unless it's rained recently), Comp hill is about 500' higher than the surrounding desert floor, and there are more nasty knife edges and razorbacks than you've ever seen. Acreagewise I'm guessing it's 25 times larger than the Pismo area. Check out the attached link.

The best time weather wise is October-April/May. The days are usually pretty mild but the nights can freeze in the fall & winter. Spring is really nice. The problem during the riding season is the dunes can get pretty torn up, especially on major weekends, but if the wind blows, and it can blow like a MF out there, they clean up pretty quickly. During the summer it can get up to 125-130 degrees, but the sand is like glass.

hey I have been to Dumont with my 86R ( that I sold) anyway, someone said they miight be going around the end of january, I love Dumont I want to go. Anyway I get my license in the beginning of December and I wanted to drive down there and go, but my mom said she will get me another 85/86 250R if I keep my grades up. The only bad part about it is I my dad has a chevy truck and it sucks gas like crazy, and I dont think it will make is to Dumont. So I am going to have to figure something out, and hopefully I will get a 250R for Christmas. So if anyone has some advice on getting there let me know.

    Thanks - Josh
