the only reference i see in my clymer manual is that it says to coat the inside of the guides + distance collars + the outside surface of the spring/damper unit with a good coat of multi purpose grease.
what is a good coat ??? who knows ,,, probbly fairly excessive i would thing.

i hope my 200es front forks are salvagable ,,, ain't got that far on my project but they look real bad ( rusty ).
