    No throttle response

I have done no mods to my 250 sx ever and has sit for about a month. When I jump on the trottle it just does nothing and sounds like its going to stall. Sometimes it will accelerate very roughly and doent react fast.
I think it might have to be cleaned? or not getting enough air? or I have no clue. Any suggestions or hel would be great. Thanks

may be water in the gas..... but if it has been sitting a real long time your carb is proly dirty with stail gas..... dump out all the old gas in your tank and drain the float bowl..... if it stil runs liek crap take the carb off and properaly clean it..... also change the plug while you are at it...

No when I bought my trike it had those mods on it, when i got it it ran great thats why i think the carb is dirty. I have done no additional mods to it.

what does the spark plug look like?I would put new gas, change the oil,new plug and fuel line and then check for the basics like is it getting gas, spark and good compression...

I hear guys say all the time to take the carb off and clean it. What is the point in that. If the trike will run as is, there is no point in my book unless its a last resort. Dump the gas out of the tank, and put fresh gas in it. Then go and get you some GOOD injector/carb cleaner and put a heavy dose in the tank and run it for a while. I have done this in the last 5 trikes I have had and its worked every time. Perfect example of this was my 87 Big Red. I had sat for 3 years with out being touched when I got it in the elements (south Georgia gets a lot of rain). It had gas in the tank. Rotten Gas. I got it running and dumped 4 ounces of Amsoil injector/carb cleaner in it. The cleaner disolves most, if not all of the junk in the carb that has built up. After riding it for about 30 min the thing ran like a sewing machine. Perfect. I was even able to back the idle down quite a bit. I put one more dose in the next tank for good measure. The thing fires of instantly everytime, even if its cold out. I would try this first. Then go after cleaning the carb.
