Question What size is my sons ATC 70 or 90?

It says 70 on the gas tank, but i read somewhere that a 70cc's where 3 speed. This one is a 4 speed? The frame also says ATC 70 but no apparent date.Just numbers.

Its running very weak right now good start and idle but very weak on power.
I cleaned out the carb but it didn't help much. But i really need to no what the carb settings are to start with? How many turns out on air/fuel jets and which is which. One sticks out of the side,im assuming this is fuel.Theres another that recessed. TIA!

Ill get a Manuel for it but my son wants to ride it now. Please help!

Man i miss my trikes! Have owned 200s 200x trying to buy a friends 250r now.Its an ugly model but all factory and clean garage kept.
Riding a Blaster and 300EX now.

if it is a 70 its not goign to be that powerful any way no matter how much cleaning and tuning you do...... i used to have a 1978 90 and it was also 4 speed with hi/low range what a little tank that thing was lol untill the bolts to the outs side gear box cover came loos and the gears sheared them self all apart.....

any way if you look towards the botom of the cylinder ware it meets the base of the engine it should tell how many CCs it is some ware around there
looking for a TRI-Z 250 to restore at the moment

LONG LIVE THE 2 STROKES !!!

The early model ATC70 had a 3-speed gearbox, the later models had a 4-speed.

I it is a 70! Yea i didn't figure it would have a hole lot of power but it should pull a mild hill in 1st with a 60#lb kid shouldn't it? I could almost take off on it in third with my Blaster if that tells you how mild it is. It bogs a bit even in 1st on flat ground is this normal?
Takes about 4 or 5 seconds to wind it up in first.12 with me on it.
I noticed it will run with the carb screws turned all the way in.Id think that isn't good.Runs best if you don't turn them out past 1/2 turn.Idles by its self the hole time.I'm stumped! I'm thinking the valves my be toasted!

Yea i remember those high low selectors! Man i wish this thing had it. Be great for teaching him how to negotiate hills.

The little dude is in great shape.Hope to get it running good with out rebuilding it.Umm if i could even find the parts for it.I traded a friend a set speakers and an amp for it.(they came in a truck i traded for so i had nothing in them and didn't want them anyway!) So im happy! If nothing else ill keep it just cause its so cute. Great starter for my daughter when i get my son his pw90 motor cycle.
