Does anyone know if you can put a 86 clutch cover on a 85 350X motor? I would rather have the clutch cable run behind the jug and not in front of it.

I'm not 100% sure, but you might only have to change the clutch pertch (the thing the end of the cable hooks to that goes inside the motor.)
You'll also need a '86 cable, the one bracket that holds the cable on the flywheel cover, and another bracket beind the cyclinder. The bracket behind the cyclinder is held on by two bolts that thread into one of the center cases, so you'd have to tap some holes. I think '85 cases have the outlines of where the bolts that hold the '86 bracket would bolt which is strange.
