Hey you Tecate guys... look at this picture and tell me if Jimmy White's prototype Team Green Kawasaki KX250 quad has either a 1985/86 tecate-3 or 1987/88 Tecate-4 rear fender

thank you ... thats what I thought after looking the quad over , I think that's cool that he used a part from his old tecate-3 racer or a part that would fit his old tecate-3 racer . I just wish they all would just race their 3 wheelers instead in that Legends race . are they ever going to have that race again ? can you post that article ?

The article I have is only on the quad itself, not just Jimmy Whites quad, but there were 2 or 3 quads like that made. I dont have any articles on the actual race. All I have on that race is an ad that I saw in a Dirt Wheels mag for it.

Mocat.....I think it was not really even a Tecate, but just the T4/T3 engine in a Mojave frame. Not sure if this is that one or not, but seems like it may be.

    T3 engine.....

I went to that article, saw another pic and I am 99% sure that is a T3 engine....check out the front of the stator cover.....no counter-balancer....100% sure NOT a T4. Possibly a KX250, but more than likely his T3 zinger.

Nope, its a ?Leagers? frame built to accept the new KX motor,I have a mag article about the woods version of the same bike. Pretty sweet ride though and the 86 rear plastic looks awsome decked out with stickers like that.

I believe BigGreenMachine is right. That legends quad is built around the KX250 mill. I don't keep up with ATV racing much anymore but I believe Kawasaki ran these custom quads for a couple years or so or maybe still do. A couple years ago there was a rumor that Kawasaki might come out with a new 250 2-stroke sport quad because of them. Instead we got the KFX/LTZ. The pics of JW's ride sure look like 86/87 KXT250 rear fenders to me too.

The Mo-Cats go back to the mid 80's before the release of the KXF Tecate-4. Kawasaki was taking Mojave frames and installing KXT-250 engines in them and racing them.
