anyone ever have a throttle stick?

A couple years ago we just got a half an inch of snow and it just rain and was cold. So i thought i would take a spin in the yard. Well i looked back to see how much i was spinning(i was tring to do a doughnut and i was obsesed with spinning the tires on my 1984 125m) and the throttle stuck and the tires caught and i rode right into a dog pen. I was bumped up a little bit even thou no helmet. Anyone else have any storries?

Never really had it stick but have been cutting a sharp turn and had it hit my leg and snap wide open to send me for a rip.

Had my truck stick wide open for a minute though.... that was scary. (it was caught in the floor mat)

    throttle sticking

i bought a 200x that had a stuck throttle for 50 bucks sevral years ago. it got away from him when he fired it up after servicing out the carb.
i know what he'd done wrong when i found the slide in the carb in backwards ,,,, he put it in gear to kill it and it launched big time ! threw him off the back and slammed into a curb and it sailed into the woods across the street where it lodged against a tree and fixing to dig its own grave. he got the off/on/off switch flipped and drug it back to the garage. the curb had knocked a hole in the bottom case the size of a half dollar.
after getting the case fixed i rode it for a year or so + sold it.

i had the throttle stick on a 6 wheeler i'd stuffed a 440 snowmobile motor in.
it climbed right up the garage door at work and peeled off almost all of it before getting it shut down.

Hehe well I was haulin arse about 7-8 months back on my 185s, and I was riding at this field and there is a trail with a bunch of garbage to the left and right of me, and I was in 4th gear floored and there was a dashboard from a car in the middle of the trail and i friggin hit it! I think i was doing about 30 or so and slowed down to about 25 before i hit it. The bike flipped a half flip, so it was upside down, laying on me. Didnt even faze me, I didn't have a scratch or bruise on me, I flipped the bike over and got back on and did some more riding! WOO HOO!

Now a story about my friend lol. Ok he was at the bottom of my driveway on his '85 R, about to take off and go to a friend's house on his R, and he was facing right across the street and he turned to go down the street, and he sorta accidentally popped the clutch and ran right into the back of my dad's worktruck LMAO it was the funniest thing ever. Then as his trike is laying on its side and he's on his back, everyone just stared at him for about 10 secs......then someone (out of my 5 or 6 friends that were there) finally says "are you ok?" And he replies with "is the trike ok"? LMAO he wasnt really hurt but his trike had a bent fork, but its all good cuz he bent it back. Funniest damn thing I've EVER seen though.

It's either that or the OTHER time my friend (same friend that ran into a truck) fell on his arse. We were at the field we ride at, and there is this pit the is next to a water pump, and we fill it up with water and go "mudding" well anyways, long stroy short, he jumped into the pit, and floored it and he hit the wall of the pit when he was trying to come up the other side and the trike threw him off and went riding off and went riding by itself, and my friend was just sitting on the ground saying "i think my leg's broken" as he was moving it, and me and my friend were like " you cant be moving your leg if its broken, so its not broken........lol he was ok, a little sore though.

Ok thought of 1 last one, it happened today. My buddy Eddie was riding his 84 Yamaha 350 enduro dirtbike, and he went around the burm and ate it, and he rides it back and he goes, "hey i cant move my thumb", and were like "dude i think you broke it, and he's like "oh great" so my friend's all "grab you thumb with your other hand and see if you can move it" and at first he couldnt and all of a sudden you hear a fat "POP!" from his thumb, and he was like "hey i can move it now!" lol it was great, his thumb just popped out of place.

Ok i think im done with stories for now lol whew

i was riding at my grandmas last summer, and was racing my cousin on his 300ex i was on my 250R and we made a "lip" for a jump well u always have to hit it like shiftin into 3rd to get some good air right? well i did but the throttle stuck on landing my weigh shifted back front came up and went over the little burm into a ditch with sticker bushes...ewww... but the reason i had the throttle stick is the thumb throttle wouldnt clear the hand grip so the previous owner just took a exactoblade and cut alittle off well after riding it had twisted.
i thought it was funny so did my cousin cause it was the only time he beat me lol.

I once had a throttle stick on my 200es. It was in low range first gear. It (after we bailed) a tree and tipped. The little kid i was carrying was stuck under it so i ran over and lifted it off him, it was still running and it kept on going, this was on a mountain so it went off a small cliff. I thought the log that was halfway down would stop it. Nope, no such luck. The old red in low first, full throttle is just a TANK. Straight into the log, banG, nice somersault in the air. The racks were ****** beyond repair, bars bent over each other. Headlight cage tweaked. Suprisingly the front end and rear axels werent bent. Fenders were smashed to hell and back 50 times. I was so pissed, yelling and carrying on. I went down to it and just cried. All that work and it was all trashed. I finally got myself together and bent the bar back as good as i could. (dident have to turn it over, it landed wheels up ) and i jus tfired it right up. Ran and idled. I drove it back to the top of the hill and got my mate on his ct125 to go get the quad and a trailer. It was a sad day for trikes. I ended up ripping all the racks and stuff off it and riding it for another few days till we went home. The red never did run as good after that day. But i did get new fenders, bars, rear rack and headlight cage. I was sore as all hell after that. My leg must of hit a volcanic rock when i bailed. It killed me to walk and get onto the bike. I was pretty shaken up afetr that. I learned a lesson too, there is a thing called a killswitch and in situations like that it doesnt pay to panic.

Not sure what size the motor was, but I know it was enough to make ya get a little scared, a friend of mine had a yamaha, that I kick myself in the *** for not buying everyday he sold it to an asshole for $100, who later descided it was peice of trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro because the pull cord broke and let it sit untill it was usless, and refused to sell it.

Well, the previous owner trimmed the throttle needle, and once in awhile would stick because it would rise too far, I'm wide open in sand pit going up a steep *** hill that we used to get all the way too the top of where there was an awesome burm, i go to slow up a bit and kick her *** end out around the turn, and shes stuck, tosses my *** down the big *** hill I rode up, looked like a scene from The Princess Bride, and some one yell's "aaaaaaaaaaaas yyyoooouuuuu wwwiiiiissshhhhhhhhh", fuggin smart asses, so up and over the trike goes over the side of the hill, I cant say how far, but its fuggin far, we coudln't see it, but apperently it landed perfectly and the jar of falling knocked it loose because there it sat, on all 3 wheels, not a damn thing bent, idling.

I then took my big red back, took my helmet off and smoked a cigarette while shaking, lol
If you can't fix it with a , its an electrical problem.

85 ATC 200s--Ratted out and not running at the moment
