Hi,
I don't usually check this board, but I always find myself thinking about how great 3 wheelers are and this site is the best around.
Anyway, you bought two of my KXT's last year and I see some talk about the champion frame. I wanted to clear things up. The stock frame was begining to break in the tail section, where the seat mounts are. My brother who also had an 84 KXT also had the same problem, his sat outside a few years and eventually we threw it out(dumpster). So given that mine was breaking in the same spot, I didn't want a stock frame. I saw a small ad in one of the 3 wheeler magazines from a guy who built swingarms and frames. I called him, and we agreed on a price of $650.00 he wanted I think 50% deposit. This was Champion Racing. After sending him the money I called week after week and he gave me excuses as to why the frame wasn't completed. At one point he told me he had a large contract for the space industry and once he finished the contract he would concentrate on the frame. I remember thinking how he had my money(luckly I had my frame patch welded so I could ride) I don't remember how long it took to get, but it was like 6 months! He sent the frame COD through Greyhound Buses. After the long wait I was anxious to see if I got totally ripped off. Well he did a great job on all the details and it went together quickly. I had to drill the engine mount plates which he supplied. Someone mentioned about the frame being White. The frame was shipped BARE metal! I painted it white! If you talk to him he will remember talking to a timid 16 year old kid, I kept thinking he was taking advantage of my age. My father never got involved, he wanted me to work it out myself, I guess that was suppose to help me later in life.
Have fun riding!
