    One last plea

I found out this morning that I lost another friend to an accident while not wearing a helmet. This one was on a motorcycle and he hit one of those cement baracades that they use during road construction. Again, no helmet and he died 10 hours later of massive head injuries. This makes 3 friends in 2.5 years. If for no other reason, wear a helmet for the people who love you, don't make them go through life wishing you were still here. I've made it pretty clear on this board that I was a cop for many years and I have to say that I remember each and every accident I ever responded to. The worst ones were always the motorcycle accidents... you would just pray as you drove there that a helmet was involved, because if not, it was not going to be pretty. Drive hard, drive fast, but please wear a helmet.

    Rant over.

A Good reminder to all new riders. Or even veteran ones who think their head is hard enough not to need one, It isn't. Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.

I always had kids around when I rode. Wanting to set a good example I always wear a helmet.
Its ironic that the people who wear and use safety gear the most are the same people who observe thier limits and ride within them. Never have I needed my helmet for this exact reason.
Besides, I feel pretty cool wearing a jet black full face.

My respects for your loss Kook.

Your head is like an egg.

Take an egg outside and drop it on the pavement.
Now think about adding speed to the mix and maybe a few trees......
