But as far as the Raptor Shock on the KXT I'm pretty sure BigGreenMachine has put one on his 85. So there's a good chance it'll work on the 86/87. TecateCrazy may have one on his 85 too.

I've got one on my 85 and Tecatecrazy is where I got the idea from. You will need a few small washers for the bottom mount and have to drill the top mount on the Tecate to fit the larger bolt. The airbox also needed to be notched. Other than that it fits great and I'd highly recommend it to anyone.
The Tecate shock to me is not as good as a new Raptor shock but thats only because mine was blown in the beginning. I may have it rebuilt with a lower setting to match my lowered forks when I do the JWR fork mods, all I need now is a spare set of 85 forks...what a money pit!
