Do I need to use an exhaust that was made for 86 200x. Could I use something made for something else. I was looking for a pipe with good low end power, and something that will make a statement when you hear it.

You might be able to put a silencer from a different bike on there but the head portion is very unlikely.

you need a 200x exhaust
you could modify a silencer off another bike to fit, but you probably cant modify the headpipe
get a cobra if you want a loud pipe

welp i have a dg exhaust sytem on my 85 200x and they do make them for 86's, the dg is super loud,allchrome, sounds badass, and is about $$140.

I have a cobra on my 86, I put a spark arester on it, it was way too loud, the spark arrester quites it a bit, its enough that you can hear it

I got the same DG Racing exhaust for my '83 200x and it fit perfect, sounded awesome, and I didn't even have to re-jet the carb for the new header and silencer.
