Well you said electric start and reverse so I would say the Raptor. If you didn't want reverse then I'd say the YFZ.

    If you didn't care about reverse i'd say a 400ex or a yfz 450

2005 400ex's have reverse and they are probably the best sport quad ever built. all around power, all kinds of mods, and THEYRE HONDA'S!

I'd go with a Z/KFX 400. E start, reverse and liquid cooled with a fan.

IT REALLY DEPENDS ON THE TYPE OF RIDING AND YOUR SKILL LEVEL AS TO WHICH QUAD WOULD BE BEST SUITED TO YOU. i have had all the fun i ever wanted on trails with a 400ex,,, it was great ,, plenty of power good handling all around just dandy,,, then at the dunes it was fun but thats where it ended ,not enough power to really do everything i wanted, rode a ltz400 and thought it was the **** ,, almost bought one ,, it has quite a bit more power than the 400ex but its also a suzuki not a honda,,, the 400ex's are totally bullet proof,,, they will be good for years of trouble free fun. then the yfz450 came out,,, WOw no comparason very fasy nimble handling (AFTER YOU GET IT SETUP TO YOUR TASTES) it takes a lot of practice to get use to the high 1st gear in it, but since i only ride it in the dunes its very awesome . ATV of the year for a good reason. i don't think it is as good in tight woods as the 400ex . but when there is a littleopen area get out of the way cause its going to be in front of everything else ,,,,, i haven't ridden the 450r enough to give a real good review yet but i know from more than 100 drag races that the stock yfz always comes out on top,,, i have even switched machines to prove my point,,, and you can't beat the electric start feature on the yfz,,, i hope this gives you a better idea ,,,

Bombardier DS650 Baja, I don't think they have reverse, I don't really care for reverse, I would just get off and push it.

The DS650 also has a Rotax motor.

I saw a 2005 DS650 Baja at the Honda dealer 2 weeks ago and it looked totally sweet with all black plastic, even has a tach.

I know they have a bad reputation on this forum, but a Raptor is a very good machine. I know of a few around here that have been bought and sold in the $3,500 price range and they were all 2002-03 models.

The raptor is a very fast and comfortable machine to ride. It has more power and torque then you will ever be able to put to the ground. It is very easy and fun to wheelie. Of the new models of quads I think it is the most comforable to ride.

If your just gonna go ride and enjoy yourself then I would buy a Raptor. If your gonna enter some sanctioned racing then I would buy nothing other then a new YFZ450 or a 450R.

Go test ride some machines and let us know what you like.
