my friend had dirtdevils on his 250es. Worked GREAT in the mud, went through way better than my strykers. I think that the gaters would be even better though, might kill a little power though. The dirtdevils did slow you down to about 2nd gear in relly deep mud, and the gaters will probebly **** a little more power. Id go with one of those 2. (btw, 589's dont come in a 9" rim)

I have ITP mudlites all around on my Warrior, since then i havent got stuck yet

Only problems i have seen with mud tires, is they wear down quick if you ride the pavement a bit, but thats almost any tire eh?

I will not be riding on any pavement, just open pasture, with swamp like bottom lands, a few clay hills and very rarely down a gravel road. I had about decided on the gators because thry were cheaper than the bugs but when I called to order they didnt have any and the guy checked with all his suppliers and couldnt get them in 25 12 9s. I asked him about the mud bugs, he said they were a better tire than the gator. said both maxxum and gbc were owned by chen singh or something like that and the bugs were there top of the line tire, wound tighter and much more puncture resistant and would wear longer. also said that the side lugs are more aggressive.

he also said I could get the blackwaters for 52 dollars a piece if any of you are intrested in them. I got the mud bugs for 162 dollars delivered to my door. the tire prices were not the cheapest I could find but when combined with free shipping on anything over 100.00 they beat the next best deal I could find by about 10 bucks and the guy I talked with was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. I ordered them from pvpowersports.com if anybody else wants to check them out.

I put Mud Sharks on my 1987 Big Red 250es. They are absolutely UNSTOPPABLE!! They are 25 x 12 x 9's. I had my local Honda dealer order them. They were $95 each, but they were well worth the money. I NEVER get stuck, and I had them on when I plowed my front and back driveway with 3 feet of snow. And it's also cool to get complimented by all the kids riding around! If you go to the "Readers' Rigs" section and click on Page 20, you'll see a picture of it. It's the only 3 wheeler on that page with a plow. If you click on the picture, it will enlarge and you can get a pretty decent look at the tread pattern. They're just great!
