    Found wild racing type trike!!!

    Check this thing out

OK, maybe it's nothing special but I sure haven't seen anything like this "thing" Anyone know what the heck this is?? I found it in the trash 3 hours ago.

Looks to have 250SX type wide triple clamps saying "honda" but they have mounts for a front caliper on the right fork leg??!!

Has an aluminum case skid plate protector.

Rear disc on the left side with caliper similar to a 200X.

    Nitrogen charged rear shock.

The headlight slips into bosses on the front fender.

Is this a Cagiva? or something else??

I just like the fact that it's different...

yes, its just a 82 250R but its a nice lookin roller FOR FREE, the caliper mount is always on the right, and it looks like a wider rear axle. you could part it out and get at least 350 bucks, or restore, i can hook u up with a motor cdi and wire harness

I agree with the rest, definately an '82 250r. Still has alot of the "hard to find parts" on it. I have alot of parts for those around, let me know if you decide to fix it. Might have what you need.

I'll probably see if a few parts can be used on the SX projects and maybe one of the calipers on my Blaster but I will part the rest out.

I just sold my 85 250R and if I didn't want that I certainly don't want an older one with all the parts it's missing.

I am completely amazed at the difference 3 years Honda made in an ATC. I just never owned an older "R" and just couldn't believe it was even a Honda.

    I'm located in Mass.

Thanks for the help in identifying it and sorry it wasn't more special. But then again, any ATC find for free is cool

Why does eveyone leave these things outside!!!!

Like they say one man's junk is another man's treasure. I'd restore it, or if I couldn't get the parts I needed, just restore the frame and hang it from the roof or somewhere in the garage.
Its definitely an 82, it has the 81-82 frame and body style, but with a disc brake in the back so its definitely an 82 because the 81 had a rear drum.

You know, if you had the room (and the money) It'd be cool to just have stuff like this sitting around (inside). Kinda like having your own museum. It wouldnt necessarily have to be fixed up either, I think theres some really cool stuff out there because its not fixed up, it still looks period.

Yeah, that is my plan for the future. You could restore some of them, but buy old jury-rigged trikes just to see the things people could and would try to do with trikes. You could have everything from Tigers to 70's and tri-zingers. I can see it know: PH's three-wheeler museum.
