    1973 atc 70

I had a buddy drop off a 1973 atc70 that looks to not have run in some time. The tires are dryrotted in one spot like it sat for 15 years, the fuel tank is original with orange paint and flames, has some rust inside but very usable!!! I removed the engine and disassembled down to bottom end and all looks real real good. The exhaust is stuck in the cylinder head,I got both 10mm nuts off but the pipe is rusted in head. I am still working on getting that out with out breaking exhaust or head casting!!!So the carb was filled with the most horrible gas i had ever seen!!!I cleaned most of it real good and got the slide working in the carb and now all I need for the carb is a float. I am missing the pullstart and can only get spark out of the stator occasionally!!!I really want to get this 70 running ,I just need to know what parts are interchangable with a 73 atc 70???!!! Any info you guys can provide will be greatly appreciated!!!!! Rob Fletcher

Sweet, that's more than what I've got.
Still running the stock block (that's gonna cause problems). DSS 331 short block, ported canfields, Holley intake, 42lb injectors, D&D Viper 6-speed, Anderson cam, clutch, PMS, power pipe, 80mm MAF, 70mm t-body, 8-point chrome moly cage, chrome moly k-frame w coil overs. Cobra brakes all around, 5-lug wheels. Still running A/C. I put 516 hp to the wheels at Anderson Ford. I was running out of fuel and did not have the heads ported and had shorties with 2 1/2 in exhaust. I have a new 10 an fuel system, got the heads ported and switched to long tube headers with dual 3 inch and an off road X-pipe. Havent had it at the track yet but I'm hoping for deep 10's.

Oh yeah good luck with the ATC70. Sorry to whore your thread.

quik, you have to be careful with 70's as they made slight changes from year to year. Seems like pullstarters changed every couple of years. I'd say you'll be safe with 1974 parts but the later 70's probably wont fit. 73-74 are kind of unique. Get ahold of jenndnn3, she may be of some help. Oh, if you wanna get rid of that 73 let me know

As far as I know the pull starter is interchangable between my 85 and 73. I know for sure the carbs are different, like the float on the 73 is completly different from the 85. The complete carb might be interchangable though. These are the things I need to know, I wanna run this 31 year old atc!!!! Hey blown331 you got a sweet combo there. loving that 6speed i bet. I love blue oval performance!!!!! How do I get in touch with jenndnn3????
