found a ktm 80 to finish the tiger 80

well i found a 1986 ktm 80 about 3 weeks ago in GA when i was ordering parts for the tiger 80.made a deal with the dealer who was selling me the parts for the ktm 80 and it arrived today.H&H KTM in GA,great guys and great prices and the largest stock of ktm parts in the U.S.i have everything i now need to finish the tiger 80.just one problem, the ktm is in such good shape i really do not want to take the motor out of it unless i have to.im going to sit on it for awhile and see if i can come up with another ktm or just a engine so i dont have to wreck this one.it is all original and very clean.if anyone knows where another ktm 80 is or just the engine please let me know.i will start restoring the tiger soon and when i get to swapping the engine out hopefully i will have found another to replace it.

Get your priorities straight man and get that lil Tiger finished. Nice score on the dirtbike, I assume it runs strong? Exact same motor as the Tiger, same 18 or 20 hp output?

    ktm 80

I would take the motor out and put it in the tiger and look for another engine or put a KX,YZ,CR 80 motor off ebay in the bike.

Do it, man. The trike will be somthing out of the ordinary. I appreciate that the bike might be in mint condition, but how awsome is an 80cc restored tiger going to be? is there any contest? I don't think so! Long live 3 wheeling

Why don't you just take the engine out of the 80 ? .. I mean really if you want to put it back in later, you can. What seems to be the problem?!

Those 80's cranked out 23 horses! I'd finish the trike resto, then have the ultimate sleeper! I mean if someone on a quad or something saw you ride up on a 2-stroke KTM dirtbike they'd expect to get the roosting of a lifetime, but if you rode up on an itty bitty little trike called a tiger that most people have no clue exist, then the guy on the other machine would be left crying! Besides, you could get another ktm 80 later and just put its motor in the bike and have both!

Look at the size of the carb. .I would keep it like it is.

my plan was to put this motor in the tiger and that is still the plan.i just want to find another ktm 80 motor to replace it.the carb on it is a 35mm dell'orto.one magazine i have says 14HP and another says 23HP so who knows which it correct.i already have new shrouds and stickers for it,seat cover but its red, front disc guard and the last pipe in the U.S. for it.still need to get more so it looks new but i will find what i need.
