allright.. I plan on rigging the fenders for now to save a little money.. also, I am pretty new to these, I first had a 250SX and I did normal work to it ( draining the bowl, running new fuel lines) but I was wondering if I had my neighbor tear it apart and fix it, other than the parts cost, what would be a good labor charge? Or could I do it myself with a clymer?

I fixed the rear fenders for now so they are now on nice and tight. i just have to bole the mud flaps back on.

i want to put a headlight on it because we do alot of night riding, but i am stuck on what to get. I was thinking of something i could bolt onto the handlebars because i dont plan on using any racks. Anyone with any recomendations, or even if you have stock bayou headlights for sale, with the holder let me know please.

My brother has a 2002 and i beat the piss out of that thing and still no problems with it yet. They are pretty strong.

yeah i have heard many things about them including that they aere virtually bulletproof.. which kind of frightens me because i have one that is not running, but i was told it had a bad air filter in it and dirt got into the motor causing it to blow a hole in the piston or something like that.. i am not sure if this is true or not because the person i bought it off of was not the one that blew it up.. i will find out hopefully in febuary because that is when i plan on tearing it apart..but even though i dont have oneanymore.. i still have to say that

what to do what to do.. I want to get it running so bad, but i dont want to hassle my neighbor about it too muck.. is this something that i could pull off, or am i better off having him do it because i have little to no expirience in this feild.. i am low on funds so i hope it is only the topend that needs work and not the bottom end..

I told my neighbor and he said hed clear out a spot in the garage for it. Once it is in there.. the problem should be diagnosed in a weekend.. then i should buy the parts within the following week, and then.. give some time to put it back together... we will see how it goes.. My friend is going to bring a CR230F silencer down and I hope to use that on it as well, with a little modification.. More to come when it comes to be apart..

I have 2001 model in red that I got for $300 and it runs, but it had worn out front a-arms and front hubs. The kid that owned it must have jumped the everloving hell out of it. The front wheels have atleast 2 inches or slop when measured at the top of each front wheel! I got some off of Ebay and they are awaiting warmer weather to be put on. I needed a new solenoid and starter relay to get the electric start working. I tried rear Honda rims on the old bayou and the bolt pattern is the same but the wheel studs will have to be replaced with longer ones for it mount and be able to put the nuts on. I wish it had Honda 4-110 pattern on the rear, as those tires are bold also, and I have a ton of rear Honda rims with good treaded tires. The kid must have never used the choke, as when I brought it home the choke was locked up. I thought it was the cable until I removed the carb and the slide in the carb was locked up where the cable goes into the carb. Ridiculous, I hate it when people don't maintain their atvs. Wasn't like this was some little rich punk kid either.

yeah i hate people like that too.. when my quad is running, i will maintain it well.. change the oil maybe once a month, clean the air filter once everyother week or so, normal crap like that. I want this to run and stay running so i can have fun with it..
