A Honda factory BLACK tank on ebay?

The guy says Honda shipped him a tank in all black. Anyone heard of factory tanks in other colors?

Well, I just bought it and it was totally stock. 1st thing I did was put a nice gash in the sidewall of the rear tire, so, new tires, I just put on new plastics ( black fender, radiator covers, rear fender, red tank, frame, and seat cover). I ordered a new headlight from acerbis, the DHH model like big green's, but in black. I put on new pro taper handlebars (the seven/eights, CR hi bend. Great bars!) and just ordered new paddles (sand skate II's). Next is an ESR pipe and silencer, although I need to find a silencer with a sparky. Any suggestions?

Those tanks are still available at the dealer. They only have black ones left, so you can still get them at service honda or maybe a local dealer............peace

That's awesome. The 250R I have now is nice original one. I want to find a beater to fix up and put a CR500 engine in. I think I'll make that one black.

A couple of years ago I tried getting a new tank from my local Honda shop and a week later I went to pick it up. I opened the box and immediatly thought there was a mistake. It is all stock except the color. I sent it back. If anyone is doing an all black 250R, this tank is it. It is an awesome shiny black. IMS makes a 3 gallon tank in red, I think it is still made. Clarke makes tanks for ATC's but not the 85/86 250R . A month ago I called them asking about one and they said they were thinking about doing them. I pleaded with them to do it. Told me to call back later to see. I told them while there at it to do Tecate tanks also for there is a market for them. I going to call back soon.
