I think your carb is set to lean. Have you had any work done to the motor to warrant using octane booster? If not, just use regular pump gas. A stock 200s is not a high performance machine that need's octane booster.

An air leak around the intake will lean out your mixture. Check to make sure everything is tight and no pinholes in your inlet manifold.

Well, for one, do you have an air filter on the carb? Do you have an airbox or are you running it 'open carb'? These thing's will give you more air which will make your air/fuel ratio be off, making it lean.

When I took my rancher down the road after my buddy broke his tie rod on his, this was a couple mile ride down the road, after a couple minutes of holding it wide open my exhaust got cherry red too.

Usualy you won't get cherry red from low RPM's but it's a good start. You'll need to adjust your needle and jet too if it is in need of a carb adjustment.

Were you winding it out for awhile before it got red? i'v seen people powerbrake their stuff and do it, but that was in the dark also. And do you have compression that is 11.1 or higher? if not, do not run octane boost. All octane is, is resistance to pre detonation. Your atc will actually run worse with octane that it doesen't need. I run 87 octane in all my bikes right now, but i'm gonna have to run race gas in my 350x when it's done because it will be 12.1 compression. A 200s is probably around a 9.1 motor and will be happy with cheap pump gas forever.
