I put a $37 battery in it and unkinked the line from the fuel pump to the carb, pushed the button and it fired up AND sat there and idled! Took it for the first ride tonight and it runs great! The FIRST trike I have ever owned that I didn't have to clean or adjust the carb on when I got it to make it run!!!

    "Sheer power"
    Hahaha. that cracks me up.
By the way, very nice trikes you got there!

Just wondering what spark plug you use in your KLT 200. I just picked one up & it had no plug when I got it, not sure on the year. The parts stores say it requires an NKG B7ES or BR7ES. I picked up the Br7es because that's all they had but it is way too small (just pushes into the head. I can see the threads on the trike are in good shape & not stripped, just that the plug is too small). So what plug do I need? I can post pictures if necessary.

I'd ask for pics. the NGK plugs you listed are common for ATVs. I dont see any reason why it wouldnt fit. Does your 200 have an aftermarket head? thats the only thing I can think of... my 2 cents

Dont go for the B8es, br8es, or the 9 series either... the numbers just signify a hotter or colder running temp. and the 'r' means it has a resistor

I'm beginning to think someone swapped the motor. Where is the engine size stamped on these trikes? I will post pics asap

this may be able to help... on my X the engine size was stamped into the lower back of the cylinder, right below the cooling fins. on my banshee, its right on the side of the jugs, it says 347cc (which isnt exactly true anymore ) I'm not a kawi guy, but thats the best info I got...

I don't think it would have an aftermarket head or any other sort of performance parts. It was just used for work on a farm, & most farmers in the area can barely afford to just put gas in.

He could run a 8 series or a 9 series without worry they are a colder plug but would have more problems fouling plugs. The resistor is for the electromagnetic inference that could screw with some on board computers tv's and such. It dosen't hurt to run either or in these old bikes. As for your bike it could be a possibility that someone blew the old plug out of its threads and had to drill and put in a set of threads. Not certain what these cylinders exactly look like. My 2 cents.

When i said: "dont go for," i meant (and should have said) "dont bother buying them just to try and see if they fit."
X2 that maybe someone re-drilled the holes, just never posted it, but read kormos posts in his other thread... its not that the plug is too small in diameter, its too short and the threads dont reach

Looks like its been drilled and a replacement has been put in by what I have been looking at.

The Diameter of the B7ES is correct (14mm I believe). When I remove the crush washer, the plug screws in, but just barely. So it's just too short...if the hole was re-threaded, the head still remained the same thickness, so I don't think it has been re-threaded if the recommended plug is the right diameter & thread. But it's confusing why it would be at least 1/3 inch too short.

    Hello

The original Duckster was a stocker that was hand painted by a Japanese graphics engineer about 50' from my desk when I worked at Kawi. I think the original idea was to make a camo one for the armed services. I think the hunting concept was either another consideration or just came about after it was done. We also made police versions and sold some to the Beach police, lol.

You can ride them in 1 1/2' deep water/streams all day long for a week without missing a beat. I know I had to do it in the middle of winter, lol.
