    Learn from my mistake

Never polish a Gold DG head, man what a pain in the arse!!! It was rough looking when I got it and the gold was trashed, so I got the idea of polishing it. Wish I would of never started. lol

Looks like it was worth it though, thats a hot looking head, great job.
If you can't fix it with a , its an electrical problem.

It was a major pain in the rear getting all the gold off and even worse sanding and polishing it. even with a dremel. I was tempted to have it cerami ccoated gold again, but I figured stripped would help it keep cooler and disapate the heat better instead of retaining it. oO well, it will look good on the bike when I do my topend this weekend.

Next time you decide to polish anything like that, soak it in "heavy duty" oven cleaner (in the aresol can), and also "purple power" (industial strength cleaner). Both of them eat right through anodizing/powdercoating etc. Saves alot of time. Looks good!
Give me no lip and I tell you no lie.

I was gonna say what Lots O Nothing said....I use have used a product called "Roll Off" which is a marine heavy duty fiberglass cleaner. That stuff is great......Expensive, but great. Other than that, Oven cleaner and a strong cleaner/degreaser like purploe power or simple green. Saves you some elbow grease.

For heavily chalked or faded fiberglass, use a product ccalled Star-Brite Color Restorer and plenty of elbow grease. IT works really well for oxidised finishes, and can be purchased at wal mart. The Roll Off is only a cleaner.
