Why is it so hard to let go ?

    Dam-it.

Why do i find it so hard to sell my big red...... I'm emotionally attached to that sucker for some reason.

I need money to finance my 250 SX project, i plan to make a really nice bike out of it.. but it's gonna cost me.

I want to replace the whole rear end bearings, aluminum rims all around, new brake shoes to go on the drum i ordered, white maier back and front plastics with a black clarke gas tank ( was going to go white there too, but i'm told gas will yellow the tank over time.. is this true? ) new handlebars, fork boots, re-paint all that needs painting... etc....

And if i can sell my big red 84 200es for around 700 or so i can do all that.

But daym.. it's hard to let go !

i'm also going to be parting out an 82 200.. the whole bike is there almost mint !, if anyone needs parts for that !!!

    Don't sell it dude.

The same thing with firearms, don't sell them, you're only going too kick yourself in the arse later for it.
If you can't fix it with a , its an electrical problem.

i have a 250sx as well. i am redoing it over the winter months"soon" 1t is a 86 and i want the 87 look. i am repainting the tank white and redoing the seat blue. i was asked the same question as well when i told my buds about the white yellowing. i am a bodyshop owner and i am going to spray it with base/clear. the clear will be ppg's anti grafitti clear. it was designed for busses where you have people writing on the walls with markers. the marker does not stain "apparently" so i am giving it a shot. even factory honda white will stain if a person is not carefull when filling up fuel.factory white honda is a single stage paint. base/clear is much better. and i was happy to find out that all the decals are still available through honda.i have all of them except for one...on it's way.

oh.. and regarding the tank... mine has 2 HUGE dents in it from the triple tree, so a cover would look weird.

    I want a new one anyways !!

Why can't you ride both? There's lots of people, including myself, that own several 3 wheelers and ride all of them.

    LOL... comforting ! thanks.

    I'm on salisbury Rd..close to edinburg. !

If i had a bigger garage, i'd keep all 3. but at least one has got to go, and that's the 82 200. I think i'll put the big red up for sale for a fairly high price, if it don't sell i'll keep it. And if it does.. well i'll pimp out the SX really good !

    how expensive is chroming ???? .. i'm thinking rear rack ! ..

    seriously !

Don't sell her man, would you just pawn off a good friend? Never sell: cars (I mean good ones and antiques), any trucks, any guns, any atv's or trikes or bikes, or any antiques, you'll just end up kicking yourself later, and who knows maybe the buyer will tell you its going to a good home-then he'll ride the living bejesus out of it-then part it on ebay! Or be like me and never get rid of anything, I've got the at least 3 different tailgates most in crappy condition for my truck, I won't ever sell them, I just squirrel them away in my shop, then I'll restore them later. You can ride two trikes as well, I can drive 4 tractors, my truck, 2 trikes in one weekend!

reguarding the dents on your tank. all you have to do is plug the petcock and plug the gas filler hole with a piece of rubber and use a torch and heat the dent up till it is red and use compressed air to fill the tank and the dent pops out....oh ya flush the tank out reeeeeal good before you do this. if you are paintig anyway this is a good method to get nasty dents out.

I am sorry but this is VERY BAD advice. Even if you wash the tank out you will still have some gas fumes in it. Heating the tank can or will ignite the fumes. If and when this happens the tank can explode and could cause serious injury. Not only that if the fumes ignite the tank will be trashed.

One of the best methods I have heard is the water and freeze method. It has been mentioned many times before. Here is a link to that info:
