New to the board
Hey-Im new here and would like to get some info. One of my frinds has a 83 ATC 250(smoker)that hes going to sell to me for $500.It does run and its strong. Im wondering where I can buy new plastics and aftermarket parts. I have no experience with 3-wheelers but I do with dirtbikes.(I have a 97 RM125). Im mainly going to take it to the dunes. Thanks for any responses!!

If you can't fix it with a, its an electrical problem.

A good place to get parts is Denniskirk.com or Rockymountainatv.com. By a smoker do you mean a 2 stroke like a 250R or a 4 stroke like a 250ES that smokes? if its a 250R then I'd pounce on it

Oh-sorry-its a 2-stroke. Ive checked rockymountain but not dennis kirk yet. Pics will be comming up soon. Do you know of anyplaces that I can buy an aftermarket exhaust? The stock one has a pretty large ding in it,and I dont feel like getting it repaired.Does anybody know of any problems with that year?? Does anybosy on this site have the same trike? Thanks for the quick responses!

I know DG makes the pipes and silencers for the air cooled R's, thats what I have on my 83, their isn't as much of a selection as if it were an 85 or 86, but I do know you can at least still buy new DG's for the air coolers. I think 500 is a great deal especially if it runs strong! lets see some pictures
here is my 83R, i bought it for 500 as well, I put the DG pipe and silencer on their, the seat, and some other things but for the most part it had good plastics and ran well..

Yeah-thanks for the info. Hes now saying $525 w/ paddles. I said hell yeah! Once I buy it-pics will be up immeadiatly(sp). Can you tell me the website? Also-if im mainly going to dune it-will I have to worry about it overheating since its air cooled? thanks
