New project ATC500X pictures taken this afternoon

Well, I WAS going to put my NOS tank scoops on for the photo shoot but I dont have any of the little screws I found some but they weren't long enough, oh well. In a few of the pictures is also my 200x and that aircooled 250R I bought a little bit ago.

The one picture that is a close up of the frame area, with some of the paint missing is where I am hiding all of my electrical stuff That cover with part of the coil sticking out is actually the air dam that catches air and runs it into the airbox on a stock 350X. I couldn't find anywheres to mount the XR500 CDI since it is odball size and shape, so it got mounted actually inside the frame, and the coil mounts on the backside of that cover, and the cover bolts back onto the frame with some small tabs I made. Pretty nifty if I might say so myself.

You'll also notice that even though the frame was lengthed 3 inches, the 500 is not that much taller then the 84 R, even though it has larger tires. I've been just about driving myself nuts to try and keep everything as low as possible (For handing purposes). The forks are not slid up in the clamps any either, when I go to 20's (The trail pros are for rolling around the shop only) and raise the forks, It will be at a very manageable height and I dont think it will be anymore tippy then a normal 350x.

Kicker and brake pedal need a little bit of warming and bending to get into proper posistion. Kicker hits on the bottom bolt that holds the mastercylinder against the frame right now. If I keep cranking it over and running it the head will be worn off and I wont have to worry about it

The tank admittinly looks out of place, but it looks 100% better with the scoops on it. After all my fitment is done (Soon, hopefully...) everything will be torn back down and I'll take it to a powder coater over in Jacksonville. I think instead of doing the frame black again I'll go red, do black tank and seat cover, rest of the plastics red. Have the Honda wing logo airbushed onto the side of the tank in red...oughta be good.

The name "Frankentrike" immediately comes to mind. With the stitched fender and everything.

Love the front tire on the 200x by the way.

You could put that 200x front tire on the 500x....you won't need it since the front wheel will be off the ground 90% of the time anyway!

I would love to see someone take a 350x and make it up like an 1987 200x. Get some white shrouds and get a sticker shop to make some '500x' stickers and place them diagonal on the tank and shroud.

No matter what colors people think look good...I love the factory look. Imagine the 500x with this color scheme:

I am not a huge fan of much black on off road vehicles...to hard to keep looking good.

You did a hell of a job, though and its going to be awesome
