I bought a 450r front brake master cylinder for my 86 250r atc and noticed it had a plug on the bottom to like attach a wire to . and its conected to a lil boc with a button that clicks in and out when ever i pull the brake lever i was wondering what it was for and if its going to do any harm by leaveing it alone and not attaching anything to it? thanks

I'm not sure but it sounds like a brake light mechanism. I don't own a 450r so I can't say for sure. I am sure you can leave it alone and won't cause any harm. My streetbike has that same thing. I might have to get one of those and then add a brake light to my r.Originally Posted by 85 250sx

A 450R has a functional brake light.
My brother has an '04 and it has a REALLY awesome, VERY bright LED-style brake/tail light.
So I'd venture to say that switch/connection you mention IS a brake light activator.

YEAH bkake lights,,,, very good idea too ,,, ever blast along behind a bubby in the dunes at night at 60 mph????? brake lights have saved a few crashes!!! that i know of,

a little wiring a fuse and a bulb swap to a 1157 ,,, you will have to replace the socket in the tail light tooo,,,, bulbs are different
