Just use a proper gasket and be done with it. Gaskets are relativly cheap, your trying to save yourself money in the wrong area. It will cost you more when a bodgy fix up fails.

well thanks i guess even though alot of you are being asses. here's the deal. i had the motor PULLED APART with NO NEW GASKET to put in. So for a fix I asked a PROFESSIONAL mechanic what to use and he gave me that stuff. I understand alot of you have seen gunk in places it shouldn't have been. That is from the people who try to use nothing but gunk as gaskets and sealants. i used it to patch a spot about an 1/8 of an inch. So you can all chill out and stop acting like I cant afford the $10 gasket because I can, I just didn't have the time and I was told that since the leak was so small it wasn't a big deal. And for all you "know it all's" there IS a liquid gasket and guess what it's called......LIQUID CYLINDER HEAD GASKET. Thank you for the helpful posts and I have ordered a new gasket. As for the smart asses, I've tried water and it didn't work in my tank.

I would not use that liquid gasket stuff. Just buy a new gasket and then you will know it was done right.
