    what is a orginal 86 200x worth?

I was looking through the classifieds today and ran across a 86 200x. I went and looked at it today and it is all original except the rear tires and the chain and sprockets. What do you guys think it is worth or how much should I pay for it? The plastic is perfect there are no cracks or anything on them at all. thanks

The real question is, what will the guy take for it and what is it worth to you. Offer him $200 LESS than you're willing to pay for it. If he doesn't take it you have some room to negotiate.

I offered hi 600 for it today but he didn't even think about it he just said no. He told me he paid 1,700 for it 6 years ago. Since then he put new rear tires and brakes on it. Its real nice but I dont know. I'll call him back at the end of the week and see if he still has it. The sixth gear is cool though.

I had 2 of them (86's) that were mostly all original except tires, chain & sprockets. I sold them both for 1100 I think. The 86 & 87 are the best looking of all the 200's & are a bit more refined.

The guy offered me less but I wouldn't budge being that nice ones are pretty rare. Mine were a jump on & go deal with needing no work what so ever.

It's got to be worth at least 9-1100 if its really nice! Maybe more?

Make sure you stand it up and inspect the underside!

I sold an '86 a few months ago (ok, more like a year ago) for $1100--same price I bought it for. It was in really good shape-plastic and all. Generally, the 86-87 should bring a little more than the 83-85, depending on condition of course. If the guy paid $1700, then he got SCREWED. Where are you by the way??

If it was original with all mint original plastics and such, it might fall into the 1500 - 1700 bracket. Why don't you take a pic of it for us?? Without that, it's really hard to tell you much, cause an original trike has large variation of meaning and quality w/o pics.
