    EBAY Buyers Beware (Scams)

Of course always use your senses when buying off ebay. This just happened to my friend with an ATV yesterday. He saw an ad with a great "buy it know" price. We live in Orange County NY and the bike was listed in Canada. The seller had great feedback. He clicked on the other items and noticed it was a store and the other items were nothing related (no big deal). He clicked buy it now. The seller emailed him instantly. My friend stated he would drive a up to buy it and pay cash. The seller said he would rather go through square trade and for my friend to send the money through this agency (seems safe right Square trade). When he insisted on picking it up and paying cash the man typed welll the bike is actually in Italy we got a great deal on the bikes and we wanted to sell on ebay.

    The catch
My friend could of paid through square trade but there was no seal meaning the seller was not a member. There is no protection without the seal. The sellers identity was taken from someone else. My friend knowing this was obvious fraud contacted Ebay. They immediately absolved all remmnants of the ad including being saved in my friends "MY EBAY" This happened last year to someone else we know with a bike listed in florida. They then say they are overseas and sometimes include the shipping.

    The lesson
You still need to be wary of someone you don't know even if the feedback is good.
Going through Square trade doesn't neccessarily mean 100% safety.
The old addage Sometimes if a deal sounds to good to be true --you know the rest.

I just don't want to see anybody here get taken.

Other smaller or lesser known companies, such as Tiger ATV, Franks, and Cagiva, produced racing three wheelers, but in much smaller numbers. Few of these machines are known to exist today and are highly sought by collectors.

I am selling a trike just that its not in my name and its located in Oak Harbor Wa. ( I live in El Paso TX. ) I'll give it to you for cheap. Just let me go and get it. LMAO! What's wrong with some people selling things they don't have/own??? I won't buy anything that I am not able to lose money on the deal. Kinda like going to las vegas and gambling my mortgage money away.

Yepp, I know first hand that this is a true scam. Someone attempted to sell a motorcycle by hijacking my Ebay account about 8 months ago.
I contacted Ebay because my password wouldn't work. Ebay issued me a new password and I was then able to login to my account. After I logged in I noticed an auction on my sellers list for a Yamaha FZR I immediately contacted Ebay and told them about it. The auction was removed and my listing fee was returned. Something like this could go unnoticed by the real account holder if they don't log onto there account daily.

I think when these types of scams happen from outside of ones country it should be viewed as a form of economic terrorism.

Tell your friend to pay with a bunch of these.
