Still Working on Clarke MFG for a 250R Tank

Here is a copy of my latest email...

    Clarke MFG,

Thank you for your quality products. I’ve bought and used two of your gas tanks for my 86 Honda ATC350Xs and love them. Very durable, light, and well-finished. I’m starting a new project – an 85 Honda 250R……should be a looker, but I need a new tank in traditional Honda red! I know you are busy at Clarke, but this is a classic ATC that will never die. There are thousands of 250Rs still running around the U.S. I can help you with creating the mold by sending my old tank for your use. It is still structurally sound.

3 Wheeler enthusiasts like me depend on aftermarket companies to keep our bikes looking and running good. Can you help on this one? Thanks in advance.

    Respectfully,

    Kris Yagel

I wish anyone who writes these Companies about a 250 R would ask about the Tecate and Tri-Z allso. After what they need of Course.

I allways do. I figure if you let them know that there are alot of 250 cc Trikes getting Restored, and that 99% of all Tecate Owners need a Tank, they might Save us from ugly Tank covers and Faded Icky loOking tanks on peoples $4,000 Rides.

Ive been Jelous of Honda Owners for Years, I finally got me a Honda, but its a 125 M not a 250 R.
I love that little Trike and I bet I can find parts easier than Tecate Parts. Us 250 cc Sport Trike owners need Companies like Clarke, or some day there wont be hardly any parts left to Restore a 84-85 Tecate, or Tri-Z.

Shows how much Honda Owned the Three Wheeler Market back in the Day.

Heres a Pick of my Tecate now, it took me about 4 Years to find a good Tank. It doesnt match the Maier Fenders because its a Little Faded, but you cant tell from 10' and beyond. I would love a new Tank.

Meat-Box unite all Tecate owners. I only like Honda, so I only asked Clarke about making a tank for the 85-86 250r. I am sure if you got togather a bunch of Tecate owners with a preorder for tanks you could get them to make one. Maybe evan loan them a tank. Ask Clarke how many units they need sold to make a tank for Tecate's.

what about a tank for the earlier 250r's at least they still make the shrouds for the 85-86 the 83-84 shrouds are near impossible to find at a decent price and ims tanks only come in red and are $240.00+

I have already e-mailed clarke about 1 year ago about the 86-87 T-3 tanks. They said they would keep it in mind, but they would have to sell over 200 tanks to cover the molding costs. I suggest anyone with a tecate to e-mail them with their requests and see what happens. The more inquires to clarke, the more apt they will be on making one. I already offered to send them my oem to copy, and they said they would keep it in mind. They were very nice and was prompt on the e-mails. They said if the did make one, the tanks would be in the 180-200 dollar mark........ not too bad!!

At first I wasn't a big fan of tank covers. But after awhile the cover I have on my Tecate starts to look beter all the time. I doubt I would even pay for a new tank now. Unless I was going for a full restore but then again I like to ride it too much so that probably won't happen.
