    West Coast Swing

I was wondering about West Coast swing arms, like would you rather have that, a Cal Fab, or something else? I would like to have an aluminum swing arm. I have heard that West Coast was aluminum and I have heard they were steel. Which is it? Are there different ones made out of different material and lengths? What does a +2 length in your opinion do for you? Does it make a slide more pridictable? I would think it would be less nimble in the woods, although it would keep the front end down more so I could steer better, so mabye it would be more nimble. Any thoughts? Thanks everybody.

Less nimble in the corners. More stable at high speed in a straight line. Easier to keep the front end down on hill climbs. Waste of money for trail riding unless there's a huge amount of steep hills. They're more useful for drag racing and dunes.

The WestCoasts I've owned were all steel. They've all been +2. I had two for 84/85 Tecates and I have one on my Tri-Z now.

I'd like to have a Cal-Fab for my 86 KXT. I've wanted one for years!

It sounds like Westcaost are all steel. Does anyone have an aluminum one? Jeb, isnt an 86 Tecate swing arm aluminum? I know what you mean, I would love to have a Calfab also.

I took a magnet to mine last night... it STUCK, so metal IT IS! I always thought it was some aloy cause when you thump on it it sounds so high pitched more like a douglas rim or something. And underneath, where the sand has worn the paint away it looks so much like brushed alum!?!?! Anyway, the magnet sticks real good so, much iron based metal for sure. So how heavy is it, never had it off the trike, does your mag have that stat?
