    86 R clutch (Hinson, 89 upgrade)

Hey everybody, I need a new clutch for my 86 R. I want a new basket, but which one? I am getting new plates as well. Is the 89 upgrade kit available, worth it, and easy to install? Is there any other clutch parts available besides stock like an inner basket and hub, etc? What's everybody running? Thanks in advance.

I am using a Hinson cluch basket on my 1985 250r with the honda update clutch kit. I am running stock honda clutch discs also. Hinson instructions advise against using kevlar discs and recommends using stock discs. It has been working great for me. Good luck Glenn

yes the 89 upgrade kit is worth it. if you don't you stand a good change of loosing the little ball bearing on the clutch shaft and then you won't be able to disengage your clutch uless you like riding clutchless.....
