85-86 ATC250R headlight questions

I just bought an 85 200X for a play bike, and I want to use a 250R headlight for a little different look. That said, I'm going to buy an 85 headlight shell from Maier. What all do I need to complete the setup? Also, are the globes (glass) for the 85 and 86 different? From what I've seen, the 86 globe looks to be more rectangular than the 85. I've been informed about the difference in fork tube diameter, and consequently the rubber strap length, between the 250R and 200X. I think I'll end up using either 86-87 200X straps or black 1/2" wide zip ties. Thanks in advance.

Sorry your stuck over in S.K.And real sorry you had to sell the HEMI gtx.I own a 66 HEMI satallite.I know how hard it is letting such a great piece of americana go.But anyway's what about a 1985-86 250sx headlight they fit and look ok.I have a 1986 200x with one on there and it look's ok.You can buy them off ebay cheaper than a 250r one.The glass does also fit in a 85 250r case as I have done that already.If you happen to see Kim jong ill up north give him an american cucumber but make sure you pull the pin first.Then run like hell.

That's odd, I figured I would get some really good responses about this topic. I figured out that the globes are different from 85 to 86, so I'm looking for 85 stuff. Anyways, I'm not concerned about prices for new stuff because I can get everything at dealer-cost, but many parts are unavailable so that's why I'm looking for used parts. I basically need an entire setup for an 85 250R without the plastic shroud. Anyone else have anything to add?

BTW, burn the hides on that 66 for me John! :
