225DX vs. 250SX

woods
sand
drag
mud
etc...
which is just plain faster

i went dx becuase ive seen a few 250's and they all had shaft probs. also, i love the torquey engine. in sand, my dr will keep up with most 250 four wheelers

I ride with a guy that has a 250sx and I smoke him in the sand but he out runs me in a drag race. My 225 dr seems to have alot more torque for riding in the sand. Mine is an 85 DR balck and gold, or at least it was until I took the old stickers off I didn't know it was a limited edition.

250SX.

Displacement. Theres nothing super special about either, that one has and oen doesnt. Displacement is what changes this from a Photo Finish.

Not to mention it had something EVERY Atv should have: Reverse.

I'd take the 250sx any day of the week over the dx, mostly because because it's a honda, I've had yamaha's,kawasaki's and suzuki but nothing beats a honda in terms of reliabilty, thay're not always the fastest(but dont froget thay did make the 350X) but man I tell ya what thay're more reliabile then anything! plkmonster, you probably seen one that was run low on rear end oil, thats the main prob no one checks it em. As far as a race I'd go with the 250sx if it had a good driver, the suspension is better, I dont know about sand, but my old 250es would go like a bat outta hell in the woods/mud(I had cheng-shin mud busters on it) I havent had a chance to test my 250SX out in the woods(2 feet of snow means only my sled is going through) I bet if ya had good tires a DX would keep up though.

my dad raced his friends SX and won
my dadsa DX was clocked at 54 mph while his friends SX was clocked at 49

Ain't no way. I used GPS and was clocked at 58.78mph. stock tires, gears, AND with my 258lb trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro on it.

I had my SX doing 56mph down the dirt road I live on(the only place I can ride till the snow is gone) I was followed by my buddie in my 88 chevy 4x4 pickup and he said it was 56, then he followed me in his 97 ranger and said it was 54, so lets say I did 55, mine is stock everything also(xcept the cheng-shin chevron tires on the rear) maybe the DX did do 54, but rolling down a hill dont count

the DX and SX run about the same
the dirt roads here r mostly up hill so
i believe u when u said 55 mph
but the is a main dirt road a mile from me
thats where my das trike was clocked doin 54
both the SX and DX get off the line about the same tho
i beat my dad on his DX with my DX and 2 times out of 4 i beat him
but i always beat him off the line
its fun
we should ride some time

thats funny
i switched my headpipe on my my DX
it came out the left side(i dont think it was right headpipe) but now i had a diff headpipe and now it comes out the left side
