There a few advantages the 225DX/DR have over the 250SX. One is weight. The DR weighs in at 20 pounds lighter. Second, Yamaha put a disc brake on the rear as opposed to the Honda's drum. Better braking power with a disc and a whole lot easier to replace pads. The plastic gas tanks have also been a smart move made by Yamaha. Honda's metal tanks are notorious for rusting out. Yamaha also kept it's connecting rod stroke down to a mere 58mm as compared to the SX's 74mm thus it's reputation as a torque monster. On the other hand Honda also has it's strong points. Better battery location. Slightly larger gas tank, .2 gal. And of course it's reputation for reliablility. In my opinion, when comparing apples to apples, these two machines match up very similarly. Both are very reliable, solid and versatile machines. They were meant to be and are the cadillacs of the three wheelers. Not the fastest or prettiest but certainly great trikes.

    re.250 VS 225

YamaChuck makes some good points, one thing I like about honda 250sx over the 225 is that in my area(upstate NY) I see alot more 250's for sale then 225's, Im not sure who made more but for any 1 225 I see, I see 10 250's(maybe thay just sold more in upstate NY) so there's alot of part's, plus 250es parts will interchange, But thay're both good trike's.
