    250sx parts interchangeability

Will the swingarm from a 86 250sx bolt up to a 85 frame? I have a complete 85, a parts 86 and a spare 85 frame and want to put together 1 bike with all the best parts. I find it's easier to start with a clean frame and transfer everything over then to take the bike all apart at once.

    Lots O Trikes!!!!!

Yeah they will bolt up. I asked this question too. The only big diference between the 85 and 86 is the disk brake in front.

No SX model ever had a front disc brake. Only SX's that got 200X or 350X front end conversions have a front disc brake.

    Differences....

Blue shock, Keihin 08 model carb, starter reduction gears, cam chain tensioner, starter/light switch housing, narrower headlight lens and different housing, enclosed rear brake assembley and a few others I forget.

I know people put different fronts on but I was always told in 86 they upgraded the SX front brake to a disk. So sorry for the bad info.

It's not bad info, just wrong. Wouldn't want everyone scratching there head wondering why there 86 has a drum brake

It would be nice, maybe it would keep some traction on the front. I remember when I got my 86sx, (the first trike I ever owned), I would always turn too fast and not have my weight shifted forward, that front end would slide all day! Also, when my one rear tire got a flat, I was so cheap that instead of buying a new tire, I bolted up a donut from a ford tempo (same bolt pattern and height), rode like that for months, oh well, you might be a redneck if.......

85 sx swingarm is different from 86 sx swingarm. Honda changed the whole setup. I "think" if you change the whole thing, the swap will work, but piece parts do not change over
