87' 250R's...some hearsay evidence

The owner of a very popular website for 250R parts told me this moring that he has had about 5 people in the last 12 years call and ask him for the white plastics for an 87 250r.

He told me that he asked them what model year they had and they said, '1987'.

They people would say that thier bike came with white plastics and actually was an 87 model. He told me that most of them were callers from Minnesota and states close to the Canadian border.

He said that most of them were bought in Canada and brought to the states. He is very very knowledgable guy.

I did not name the site because I don't want a ton of people calling and bothering him..without buying something.

Just thought it was interesting.

I don't want everyone calling to bother him about this ok? If you call then buy something!!

there ia a guy on ATV connection that said he rode witha guy in mexico that had a 87 250r,,,, i quizzed him and ,,,,,,well i dobn't believe him,,,, and some how pictures never turned out,,,, RIGHT

Why is it that everyone thinks that there are 87 R's in canada . Around here there is only a handful of 85-86 R's that i know of and the only 87 trike that i found is a 200x and i have been to a lot of junk yards hell i even own a small junk yard and when anyone comes to buy parts i ask them and tell them to ask everyone the know and sofar nothing so if there is any around here they are just as hard to find here as in the usa

yea, he is sure...he bought it(x) i think what he means is that a freind sent him the picture...not the seat. X system bought it off ebay last year

Short4stuff I've found several high-po trikes around here lately. I have a bud with an 85 R, one guy selling two Tri-Z's for $400, another Z in the paper for $2000, an 81/82 250R and theres a 83/84 250R around my area in great condition.
