In my Feb of dirtwheels, it says the 81 250r is essentially a cr250 engine with with a bigger flywheel and smaller carb, so I guess that means that the engine is the same as the 81-82 cr's, since the 81and82 250R's were the same right? I wouldnt take that to heart, unless you can get the top end for fairly cheap, I am sure thst someone on here knows for sure though.

I wish I knew but even if it did you still need a lot more than a jug to make a motor liquid. I'm pretty sure the case halves would be different and you'd still need a way to pump the water. From what I hear the air-cooled R's do really well without liquid cooling anyway. Sorry I don't have much for ya.

Go to www.powersportspro.com and look up the 81-82 CR250, you'll see they are very different motors.

Are you sure? Dirtwheels said they did, I dont know much about bike statistics, maybe they meant 1980cr since the 81R's came out in 1980?

So your going to keep the 82? The 84 is an all around better bike then the 82 in every aspect. Both are aircooled, only the 85/86 Rs are liquid cooled.

I wouldn't believe anything Dirtwheels says. They are just as dumb about trikes as they were 25 years ago.

Come on, I know they had aircooled cr250's around the late 70's early 80's, I dont know if the jugs will bolt up, but if you get the parts cheap, it's worth a try.
