very nice... i think theres a lot of stuff from the newer machines that could go on our trikes with minimal modification... it just takes one person to give it a shot... good job!!

So the 250R and 450R sprockets take the same pattern? How about brake disc and such. Do the axles interchange? Damn I might want to get rid of my Z and go all modern suspension 250R now

I used a new 250r sprocket i had kicking around, the sprocket allen bolts are bigger on the 450 i had to get them at the honda shop for $30. I think the brake disc and hub are the same as the 250r but i havent tried this yet so not 100 percent sure, i have a 450 disc and hub. I think the axles interchange too. If you use the 450 axle you have to get 450 hubs as the 250r wheel hubs arent the same size.

Awesome...I saw one on ebay a week or so ago and wondered if it could be done.
Will the 250R linkage and shock work or do you have to use the 450R stuff.
    If I don't remember...It never happened

jeffatc250r, Great Idea, that really looks sweet. I think a 06-07 swinger would be cool cause It's the same lenght as a stock R. It really shows how well honda built there stuff way back when. They really have'nt change that much In over 20 years. I wonder If the axle carrier has the same outside diameter. I know alot of people used to put 250R brake calipars & rotors on 400ex for better groung clearance & longer lasting brake pads. If the 450 stuff Is close to the same the Interchanging will carry on even longer.

x2 guy You have to use the 450 shock and link, the 250 will not work at all. you can use the 250r brake caliper and holder

This was done on a quad not to long ago, I remembered reading about it so I went and found it on exriders. I don't know what the 450 swinger weighs but I know I saved at least 10 pounds when I did the switch on my trx from steel to aluminum.
